On Friday, FMI, VMS, and MHS staff took part in an Apple Professional Learning training to prepare for our students receiving iPads as their new student devices. We will roll out 2,200 devices across the district next week. We’re excited to get these devices into the hands of our students and provide new opportunities for learning and collaboration!
The next phase of the Starry site facility plan begins this week with the demolition of the 1959 and 1965 sections of the building (pictured in red and orange).
Following a facility study, the sections were determined to need significant upgrades to areas including ADA accessibility, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, fire suppression, windows and the building envelope. After demolition, the area will be seeded, while the 1998 section of the building will remain in use. All current services and offices will continue operating as usual in the remaining space.
We’re excited to continue moving forward at the Starry site!

Congratulations to Marion Independent School District Superintendent Janelle Brouwer, who will serve as president of the School Administrators of Iowa (SAI) Executive Committee this school year.

From the talented artists who have helped shape our school's history to the students creating incredible work today, the arts have always been an important part of our community.
Decades before today's performers took the stage, Marion musicians were making history. During the 1960 Spring Contest series, the Marion High School band claimed its eighth consecutive first-place finish at the state contest, continuing a tradition of excellence that still resonates today.
This summer, six Marion High School students and two staff members traveled to Guatemala, where they partnered with a local organization to build a home for a family in need. In just four days, they worked side by side with the family, mixing cement, painting, installing windows, and creating more than just a house. They built lasting connections through service, teamwork, and cultural understanding.
This unforgettable experience reflects the compassion, leadership, and global citizenship our Wolves demonstrate both in and out of the classroom. We couldn't be more proud of these students and staff! #OwnYourFuture #ElFuturoEsTuyo
