Our Class of 2025 was awarded an impressive total of $778,160 in scholarships, including:
✅ $238,050 from the Marion Foundation
✅ $23,310 in scholarships associated with Marion through nominations or partnerships
✅ $516,800 from other scholarship sources

Many members of the VMS 6th Grade enjoyed a recent trip to Bloomsbury Farm. The weather was beautiful and students had a great time!
Our Competition Cheer took home first in State this past Saturday! The team competed against 13 other 3A teams and took first place beating the second place team by 6 points! If you are unfamiliar with cheer scoring-6 points is HUGE. Our final score was 91.4 out of 100 which is a new personal best for our program! This makes the Marion Cheer Squad back to back state champs! #MISDOwnYourFuture #MISDinspire

Back-to-Back State State Champs! Our competition cheer team competed against 13 other 3A teams and won by 6 points, with a final score of 91.4 out of 100, a new personal best for the program!
Also, the girls were one of the few teams that sat together for the entire competition, cheering on all the competitors throughout the day, truly representing the Marion Way from start to finish.

The VMS Sixth Grade recently participated in their Second-Annual Trail Trip to celebrate the end of the first quarter! Students could choose to bike, walk, rollerblade, ride scooters, or skateboards. Students had a lot of fun exploring our community and enjoying the great weather!

Spanish 2 students creating “clalveras” for Día de los Muertos. Thanks to those that contributed milk jugs!
Happy Halloween from all of us at Longfellow!
As most of MISD is celebrating Halloween, the Spanish classes are celebrating Day of the Dead. We have our altar, delicious food, decorations and Catrinas, and we’re making mariposas 🦋to honor our lost loved ones. It is a wonderful celebration!
Bakery students chose a muffin recipe and worked with their kitchens to produce quality muffins. Students learned about the functions each ingredient provides in their quick bread muffins. Flavors include pumpkin chocolate chip, banana chocolate chip, double chocolate chip, nutella filled, and classic chocolate chip.
VMS students enjoyed a fun and festive Halloween Dance last week, with many creative costumes on display! We wish everyone a safe and Happy Halloween!
