Justin graduated from UNI and has been teaching for the past six years. He lives in Cedar Rapids with his girlfriend, Raven, and her son, and they're expecting!
Justin says, "I am excited to meet everyone, get started working in a high-quality PE and health program, and jump into coaching, starting with the varsity football team this fall."

Marshall graduated from MHS in 2019, recently earned his degree from the University of Iowa, and is an avid fan of all things fantasy and fiction.

✨ We welcome Nicole Green as a 3rd Grade Teacher at FMI!
Nicole lives in Marion with her husband, and they have three sons. This will be her first year teaching, but she has been in education for over 25 years, first as an occupational therapy assistant and then as a paraeducator.
Nicole says, "I have always appreciated and admired MISD’s ability to equip learners with what is important and necessary to be prepared for their future without sacrificing the importance of community and caring in the process."

The teachers and staff of Vernon Middle School are excited to welcome students back to our building for the 2024-25 school year. The VMS Open House will be held Wednesday from 5:30-7:00 pm and the First Day of School is Friday. We can't wait to see our students later this week!
Our teachers and staff are busy preparing for the upcoming school year! We will kick off the week with our staff welcome today. After that, all staff will participate in professional development. The first day of school for students is Friday, August 23.
✨ We welcome Beth Votroubek as a Behavior Strategist at Parkview Elementary!
Beth earned her Master's in Social Work from the University of Iowa in 2010 and has been working in MISD through Grant Wood AEA for the past 7 years. She is married, has three children, and two dogs. Beth says, "I could not imagine working in another district. I am excited to be able to work more closely with students and to be in one building every day."

Football camp starts in just a few days for our middle school student-athletes! 🏈

August 12th Report to the School Board: The new Parkview Elementary building will be ready for students on the first day of school. City inspections have been completed and permits issued, final cleaning is underway, teachers are setting up classrooms, and city street work is nearly complete for the routes to and from the school.
