Marion ISD will be running on a two hour delay today, January 5th. No before school activities. No breakfast will be served. There will not be AM Preschool.

One of our favorite days of the year was today, our Holiday Sing Along! The students (and staff) enjoyed singing and dancing along to many holiday favorites. The teachers even performed a very special number for the students!
Ms. Jess’s class had fun playing Pin the Nose on the Reindeer.
Raise your hand 🙋🏻♀️ if parachute day was your favorite day in PE class! Miss Haag’s 1st graders sure enjoyed it this week!
Miss Kasparek’s class had so much fun in library this week! We focused on the pictures of a wordless picture book to comprehend the story!

Second grade students work on making their reading more fluent each day. One tool they use is called a whisper phone. It allows everyone the opportunity to practice at the same time without bothering their neighbor as they listen for a smooth reading speed and good expression. 📚

Second grade students in 2K have been learning about igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks and how they were formed. We are checking out rocks in our rock kits and seeing if we can classify them according to traits.
This week is Fire Safety Week. Thank you to our Marion Fire Department for coming today to talk to our kindergarten and 1st grade students about fire safety. They even put on all their gear to show us that firefighters are not scary.
