Please welcome our new school counselor, Bryan Clark. He is originally from Marion, Iowa. This is his 10th year as a school counselor. Previously, he was an elementary school counselor for 4 years in Cedar Rapids and most recently he was a school counselor at North Central Junior High in the Iowa City School District for 5 years. He graduated from MISD and then went on to Coe College and UNI for his masters. He went into teaching because he enjoys working with young people and finds the work super meaningful and fulfilling. He also has many educators in his family- siblings, parents, aunts and uncles, and grandparents. He wanted to work with middle school students because they are at the most fun, goofy, caring, sometimes awkward and difficult age and are still figuring out who they will be as individuals. It's so much fun to be a part of that adventure.
He attended school at Starry, VMS, and MHS and graduated in 2005. It is so great to be back in the district! He lives in Cedar Rapids with his wife, Jessie, and their 11 year old pitbull rescue, Bella. In his free time, he loves to enjoy a good movie, good meal, or a good workout!
Interesting Fact: He has a twin sister who is also in middle school education.
