Allison Estal

Please welcome our new 5th grade special education teacher, Allison Estal. She is originally from Dubuque, IA. She graduated from the University of Dubuque. This is her 6th year teaching special education. She has taught grades K-8 in a variety of different positions but most of her experience is working with students in 5th/6th grade. She decided to go into teaching because she enjoys working with kids and helping them reach their goals. She loves special education because she is able to support and motivate students who struggle academically to make growth towards their goals and be the best learners they can be! She chose to work at a middle school because she loves this age group because they are learning more complex content but they are also still at that age where they want to please their teachers and do their best.

She moved to the Cedar Rapids area this past summer because her fiance is from this area. She has two kids, a ten-year old girl and one-year old boy. She has two dogs and enjoys doing anything outdoors when the weather is nice.

Fun Fact: I grew up with a dad who loves cars and racing so when I was younger I had a Junior Dragster and would drag race at a track in Earlville, IA.
