Mrs. Beckner’s class is learning about holidays around the world. After learning about Israel, Ms. Terri came in and taught the class about Hanukkah. They learned about the Menorah and Dreidels. At the end everyone had fun trying to spin different types of dreidels. #lesinspire

Kindergarten just wrapped up their CKLA knowledge unit on plants. In the unit they learned about bees and all they do for us. Today classes had a local Beekeeper come in and teach them even more about taking care of them and some fun facts. The classes were “buzzing” with excitement! #lesinspire

Make a difference before the year ends! ❤️

Every day, we serve around 1,500 lunches and 500 breakfasts, ensuring students are nourished and ready to learn. No student is ever turned away from a meal, but unpaid lunch debt continues to rise.

Your donation, no matter the amount, can make a real impact—helping students grow, learn, and succeed.

At MISD, keeping schools safe is a shared effort. A door left open—even for just a moment—can create real safety concerns.

As part of our Stop the Prop campaign, you’ll notice new stickers on school doors across the district. These gentle reminders ask everyone to close doors behind them and avoid propping doors open.

It’s a small step that makes a big impact. 🚸

We met our first reading minutes goal! Our students have read 100,000 minutes at home this year, so we celebrated with a Glow Party! Thank you to the Longfellow Parent Group for donating all the glow supplies! Our Preschool-2nd grade students had a great time dancing with their glow sticks and bracelets! Thanks to Mrs. Freesmeier we also had black lights to add to the glowing excitement! We have already started working our way to our next goal of 200,000 minutes!

📚✨ Our 2nd graders had a “book tasting party” in library class this week! Students sampled different chapter books—just like trying new foods at a restaurant—getting a little taste of each story to find new favorites. 🍽️📖

They explored exciting characters, surprising plots, and new series to add to their reading lists. We love watching their curiosity grow! ❤️🤩 #lesinspire
