MISD's School Resource Officer, Officer Davis, visited Longfellow on Friday. His visit was a part of the Get Booked Cops 'n' Kids Reading Program. He took time to read to each grade level, Preschool through 2nd grade. All of the students enjoyed listening to him read, "If I Built a School". They also had a chance to ask him questions about his job as a School Resource Officer.

In addition to his visit, every student went home with a new book for their home library. The students were able to choose a book from a variety of titles. Books were donated by Quota International of Cedar Rapids Charitable Trust.
