MHSAP students (and staff) got to attend the Corridor Career Inspire event on October 26 at the Alliant Energy PowerHouse in Cedar Rapids. Our students really had fun learning while eastern Iowa businesses, colleges, and industries shared hands-on career related activities with area 9th graders. It gave our students a glimpse into a variety of career areas. Students stacked pallets, used an ultrasound machine, arranged flowers, painted with frosting, read blueprints, discussed internet safety, and more. Grace, one of the students who attended, said, "I really enjoyed the Career Inspire Event. I encourage others to attend if they can. It allowed me to explore different careers and gave me a hands-on experience."
THANK YOU to Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa and their sponsors for this opportunity!
MHSAP families, watch for career exploration days with hands-on activities coming up in the spring! We'll be participating in 3 different construction trade days - 2 of them are for high schoolers and 1 for middle schoolers. More information will be in upcoming Newsletters and the MHSAP Memos.
