As a reminder, GRADUATES, please submit Biographies, Pictures, and Words of Wisdom to Katie Toomer at ktoomer@marion-isd.org no later than Monday, March 1.
These items were outlined in the graduation letter sent out last fall. But, here is also a brief reminder of what we need for each of these:
Words of Wisdom: We like to include Words of Wisdom from the parents in each senior’s diploma folder. The Words of Wisdom are not required. These can be “words of wisdom” or what it meant to homeschool your child, positive experiences you had, or a poem/verse.
Graduation Ceremony Slideshow/Senior Pictures:
During the graduation ceremony, there will be a slideshow. The slideshow is made up of pictures from the senior’s life from when they were a baby to the present. We need a total of eight pictures:
•six of the pictures from the senior’s life (pictures can include baby pictures to the present)
•two of the pictures need to be senior pictures
One of the senior pictures will be submitted to the Marion Times and the other will be shown during the slideshow. You may use the same senior picture for both if you would like. All pictures need to be a .jpg or .png file.
Student Biographies: We have questions we need the graduate to answer in paragraph format. The paragraph needs to be emailed to Katie Toomer at ktoomer@marion-isd.org by March 1. The last question is meant for students to share something about their homeschooling. It is not meant for students to list their awards or honors. Biographies should not be more than 200 words. In your biography include the answers to: how long have you been homeschooling? What are your plans after graduation? What are you majoring in, if you plan on going to college? When I think back over my homeschooling experience, I.... (finish the sentence). Include your parents’ names and how many brothers and sisters your have.
