The Marion Independent School Food Service Department is welcoming donations of any amount to assist families struggling to pay their lunch debt. The district is committed to not turning any student away for a meal. Consequently, debt continues to grow. The district serves an average of 23,000 students for lunch and 7,000 for breakfast per month. By donating to help families pay for school lunch you are not only supporting them being fed physically but mentally as well! Research shows that students that participate in the school lunch and breakfast program receive benefits that carry over into the classroom. Receiving nutrition helps students by boosting their academic performance, increasing their concentration, and improving their classroom behavior.
The cost of a student lunch is $2.85 for Pre-K - 8th grade students and $2.90 for High School Students. Breakfast is $2.00.
